Silverline Investments was founded in 2008 as an independent vehicle for acquiring assets, building businesses, testing ideas and pursuing opportunities that didn't fit inside conventional categories.
What began as entrepreneurial experimentation became a diversified private portfolio: residential and specialized real estate, operating companies, private investments, live entertainment, environmental services, consumer businesses and a long list of things that were harder to explain at dinner parties.
Some of it became long-term holdings. Some was built and sold. Some was an experiment. Some didn't work. All of it informs how we underwrite today.
Silverline is not a fund, a syndicate or an advisory firm. It is a private investment and holding company deploying primarily its own capital — which is precisely why it can move the way it does.
We aren't afraid to be wrong.
Being wrong early is cheap. Being wrong slowly is expensive. We size positions so a bad idea costs tuition, not the company.
Independence is the strategy.
No fund, no committee, no mandate written by someone else. We can decide in a week and hold for a decade.
Operations beat spreadsheets.
Most of what we've learned came from running things, not modeling them. That shows up in how we underwrite.
